Re: Folder Visibility

Hello Andrea,

There are different ways of setting up security in BO. So it is not possible to explain completely here.

However please try below. It below might help you.

Go to user security of a folder which you want to hide.
Select the usergroup >> Assign Security >> 'Advanced' tab >> Add/remove Rights
[use advanced rights to explicitly deny a user or group]

From the list of rights for "view object" Set to 'Deny'.

Also, you can play with various options like 'Apply to object' and  'Apply to sub object'.

Good Luck

Re: Rack Jobber flag in MVKE Table

Hi,

I do have some info on the RJART setting.

if the article is listed as concessionaries, MVKE-RJART = 'X'.

Next, you delisted the article from the sales area, MVKE-RJART = 'X".

When article is discontinue,  MVKE-RJART = 'X"

When the article is turned back as ACTIVE as a NORMAL listing, MVKE-RJART = 'X".

when a new article is listed as NORMAL, MVKE-RJART = ' '.

There is a Z program provided by SAP to change this flag ON and OFF.

Search pattern = "Z*MVKE*"

With the MVKE-RJART = 'X', the posting of POS will also take a look at the setting in WLK1.

Hope this info will help.

Well, I'v not said that this is under rule of engagement. I said "You should not"

I think my other points are totally supporting for my first line.

I am regular participant of MM forum. When any one post a solution that is dangerous or not right or misleading or incomplete and it got correct answer, then I see, moderator (Jürgen Sir ) has removed the correct answer and send a reply to this port as "Moderator message : This answer is not correct"

I didn't say that one should not take any action when you see a wrong reply, I have just said use the alert moderator buttons and write your comment.

Anyway, I am learning these things from you moderators (as I am a member of only 8 months), thanks for the caution and explanation.

Re: How do SAP select the correct DC to issue stock out to store

Hi,

Supplying concept will helps indeed.

However, it is meant to define the supply DC for the receiving site as a whole.

My receiving site has products for different subrange.

Only 1 particular subrange, Chinese, need to get from the new DC.

The rest of the subrange still continue to take from existing DC.

How can I do it?

SAP BASIS - Can System Admin experience (Non-SAP) transfer into SAP Basis?

0
0

Greetings everyone, I hope you are well this weekend.

I've heard how great SAP careers are for the dedicated and I'm doing my research to find out if an SAP career is viable and if so which is a good entry point. I've read a book by John Von Aspen and in his book he suggests starting out in a customer service rep position for an SAP company as an end user to use as an entry point, but for my background is there another way?

I'm a computer science graduate of DeVry in Atlanta with Technical Support experience and I'm currently working in an IT customer service position. My career has only begun and I'm in the process of mapping out the best route to start in SAP. I'm looking into BASIS as a starting point out of all the functional modules and technical roles available but I am open to all areas. If the next point in my career map were a System Administration role, and if I were to have a few years experience in that role, could I transfer the skills gained into an SAP BASIS administrator? Between now and then I would have done much self study from books and any online courses I could afford. However would I still be short of what a hiring manager is looking for if I don't have an direct experience with SAP Basis?

If such a path would not be viable, what would be the next best step to take coming from Tech/Customer Support?

Thank you,

Sabir

Re: ASE CE 15.7 LOCK problem

Hi Victor,

How many instances do you have in the cluster?

Do you have write/read operations in the same table from many instances?

This message its part of a stack trace?

Perhaps, ASE errorlog, unix log and sp_monitorconfig 'all' output will be helpfull.

In my experience, I have some issues with lock manager when there is write/reads operation from both instances.

Thanks.

Javier.

Re: Manufactured goods transfer to other plant

Dear Mayuresh,

If I understood your requirements correctly then this can be met by using special procurement key 80 in

the material master MRP2 view. But the standard behavior is in such a way that as soon as the GR is

done in the Production plant then the stock will get posted in the planning plant.

check this thread to explore more,

Re: Production In Alternative Plant

But only if you want to transfer the stock from the production plant to the planning plant in the form of a

STO process, then special procurement key 40 will be more suitable for this process.

check and come with your queries.

Re: one or more named data cache for performance

Hi kent,

Going directly to your question, I recommend you to make a mixed data cache of 20G with a page size pool of 15G and a large io pool of 5G and bound the database to it. Its not possible to separate indexes and data in different data caches because you only have two types of caches, logonly and mixed.

Then if you have 10G extra you can check sp_monitorconfig 'all' output or sp_sysmon out if you have to reconfigure something. If not, a 10G data cache for tempdb may be a good point but it depends in the tempdb size and activity on it because if its bigger and you have lot of activity you may degrade performance because of cache misses and more.

In order to know if you cache is full, check moncachedobject and moncachepool.

I hope this help.

Javier.

ASE - LDAP Authentication

Hi all,

Did someone configure LDAP Authentication in ASE? More specific with Microsoft Exchange?

I have lots of aplications, some web aplications already authenticate with Exchange but some other Client/Server Apps authenticate in the App by ASE and I want the users to have a unique access (user/password).

Thanks.

Javier.
