When is it our turn? How do IC Agents Know When They Should Respond?

$

We are implementing the SAP CRM Interaction Center and have configured ERMS e-mail handling and threading (automatic linking) of e-mails to the service requests.  These items are working fine.

Question:

For the IC, how is the agent responsible for the service request notified that it is their turn in the two-way communication?  We are looking to have one agent resolve the issue from start to finish rather than just having the next available agent respond.  Additionally, It is common for us to have 3-5 back-and-forth communications with the customer before the issue is correctly identified/resolved.

Any ideas?

Hi,

have you checked quite recent note 2047975 . It could explain why it takes so long to delete a user. That note also references another note 1893393.

Out of curiosity. Have you thought about not deleting users and just removing roles from them, locking them and assigning them to a designed group. This is a common practice and it has some advantages.

Cheers

Yes correct RB.

Done what you have mentioned. Now the issue is the password of SDM. It take s the old one not the new one. As per my understanding it should take the new one as the secure storage is updated with the new password.Could you please help me with the concept of user SDM and its password repository.

No Connections in the 730 GUI

I have a number of students that are having difficulty installing the 730 GUI. They report that the installation seems to go well, but the server list does not populate even when Connections is selected in the left hand window. I know one student is using a Mac but I can't say that all of them experiencing this problem are.

Any thoughts on what causes this problem?

HANA Repository and Perforce

Hello All,

We are facing with a unique challenge. Working on some text analysis features of HANA which I need to keep both in Perforce as well as HANA repository. Is there any way I can keep those two repositories in sync? Has anybody tried bridging those two or aware of those two rather than copying and syncing the files manually and committing them?

Thanks,

Mert

Re: RFC - System /Service User Authorizations

Hi,

you should not try to create one massive role that will be used for every RFC user. You should try to create a tailored role for each user. E.g. if a RFC user is used to create sales orders by some external app then this user should be authorized to create these sales orders only. So in case this external app gets compromised the attacker won't be able to gain access to your ECC system by misusing RFC connection. This obviously requires some effort.

For a quick solution that lowers the risk but it's not the best you can try to use SAP role that is delivered for workflow user WF-BATCH. It used to be common to assign SAP_ALL to WF-BATCH user but later SAP provided a role that removes some risky authorizations.

BTW unless you just upgraded you don't need to assign SAP_NEW to your users. You should read about meaning of SAP_NEW profile here on SCN.

Cheers

Customizing FD01 and FB70 using PS Class and Characteristics

Hello SAP Experts

I have the following issue:

My client has a requirement where we need to customize the Customer Master  (FD01) screen and the Invoice Posting Screen (FB70). A few additional fields have to be added by creating a separate tab. I was intending to take Abaper's help and do this using user exits but I have been suggested by the cleint to use SAP PS Class and Characteristics feature to do this. Can someone please throw some light on this feature and how can i create custom fields on FD01 and FB70 screens. Is there a way we could customize these screens using PS class and characteristics. Your opinions would be much appreciated.

Please kindly give your suggestions. Thanks in advance

Regards,
Nik

Hi Jannus,

I checked the set up. in of the link its mentioned that in RFC destination we need to add the SAP gateway and service details from PI. Currently in ECC side in  RFC destination the sap gateway n service is blank. And in inboundRA properties the localgateway is mentioned as "true'

I tried mentioning the PI gateway and service in RFC destination and triggered IDOC. But it showed error in SM58 as " And IDOC exception has occured"

Thanks,

Tina

Strategy for ensuring replication is complete before initating query from source system

$

Hi,

I am using HANA as a side-car scenario with reports running in SAP ECC being accelerated by querying replicated tables in SAP HANA instead. This works well, however I don't have a good mechanism to validate before running a report whether the underlying data has already been replicated to HANA or is still queued up.

Often users would want to run the reports soon after large data changes have been made in the source tables. It is unknown, based on the overall workload, how long it might take for the most recently written records to get replicated to the corresponding HANA table.

What is a good practice approach to handle this. I have seen some separate threads on doing record counts between HANA and ECC. I think that is not a good idea at all. Firstly, for large tables, the time overhead of doing the record count is very large. In the time it takes for me to query the record count in ECC, the HANA report could have run 10 times over. But more importantly, for very large source tables, I may have opted to only replicate more recent data, leaving old historical data from ECC un-replicated to HANA.

I know this is not a new problem. SAP must have already addressed it a number of ways for their own delivered application accelerators. The COPA accelerator for instance must be doing something along these lines. Possibly querying most recent records in ECC and comparing them to the most recent records in HANA for the same tables might be a way to go.

Does anyone else have insights into how to best approach this? Does SLT expose a mechanism to check whether replication is completed for any given table?

thanks,

Nitin Goel

Change field catalog dynamically

I am using an OO ALV to achieve my requirements.

Requirements:

I need to populate this grid from a table. I should be able to add, edit, and delete lines. I did already all of these requirements. The tricky thing is that if the table has data and I am populating this data, there are some fields that should NOT be editable. When I add a new row, two of those non editable, should be editable.

The question is, when I add a new row, how can I change these two fields to editable for that new row without changing these fields on the records that are already saved?

Obviously I am not looking for exact code. I am looking for someone to point me to the right direction.

Re: Turn off Detailed Logging in script logic

Hi All,

This is an older post of mine. I wanted to share an update.

As Lucio Martinez correctly pointed out, the detailed logs can be prevented by setting parameter

SCRIPT_LOGIC_DETAIL_LOG = OFF.

However we were wrong in our original premise that the detailed log itself was consuming too much time for writing the logs. Even when writing millions of lines of log details, the time spent on doing that was very small compared to the overall runtime.

We are now on HANA and life is much better!

Re: Graphical Filter in Calculation View?

Hi Roland / Fernando,

One thing about last node is that it's a representation of output, it's node a real aggregation or a real projection but a representation similar to make easy to manipulate/rename before went out on semantic. Is also the only one that you can switch between projection / aggregation.

This last one wasn't here since SP3 or SP4 if I remind well...

About the beauty visualization of filtering against the box to direct edit expression is the same since ever. Initially you can do it beaty but if you want one time to edit without the wizard Studio alert you that after you confirm the only way to maintain is manually through expression.

filtering going to manually edit.png

Of course, if you start directly on expression you will not see the option to filtering with wizard.

Re: Planned orders to customer orders

Hello

The attached screenshot from transaction MD04 shows that this sales order is not MRP relevant.

Was this sales order created after you set the strategy 40 on the material master? Please try with a new sales order.

The MRP relevance of the sales order is defined by the requirement type/class customizing. Check the sales order requirement type on tab procurement of the sales order. Then, check the requirement class assigned to this requirement type on transaction OVZH. After that, check on the customizing transaction OVZG which value is set for the field "no mrp". This is where the sales order MRP relevance is defined.

The requirement type is derived from the planning strategy but you can assign manually a requirement type to the sales order item category on the customizin transaction OVZI.

Please observe that any customizing change will be only relevant for newly created orders.

See point 5 of document MD04: Problems with sales orders for details.
