Thanks for your reply. I had guessed as much what with a number of changes going back and forth with setting up the config.

So can I presume that in the event someone wants to create serialization for equipments, the serialization procedure (of the serial number profile) must necessarily be set to "02 - always with equipment" in order to avoid a serial number / equipment data mismatch (asynchronous). And that is the only way we can create scenario for refurbishment.

The system anyway allows assignment of serial number in equipment change mode but "insists" on creating a new serial number (disallowing assignment of an existing serial number to the equipment). In cases like this the serial numbers created (automatically) would remain unutilized and may create confusion.

And that, when you are "assigning" material number and serial number to an equipment you are also "in effect" creating an assignment between the material and serial number as well.

I would be grateful for your confirmation / clarification on the above.

It works with this signature and delivers a handle back.

The database is not shipped with the product, only the database schema creation scripts. So the DB must be installed separately. I would use the media shipped by DB vendor.

In Composite environment, We are using MDM web dynpro component ,MDM web service and MDM Java api. To connect new migrated D45 MDM 7.2 SP12 system ,First We have upgraded the MDM JAVA Packages on CE 7.2 from MDM 7.2 SP10 to MDM 7.2 SP12.

I would suggest to keep BPC on one system, so that consolidation and planning can "talk" to each other.

One system:

Pros:

1 system to maintain, all data in one place, less duplication

Cons:

patch update might be slowed due to dependence on the BW team.

As long as you size the system properly there shouldn't be any issues with combined system.

concatnate wa_final-VORNA 'first name ' into text .

          move text to wa_final-vorna. (here declare  text in final tab.)
