Re: Exporting visualizations from Lumira to Explorer Information Spaces

A possible use case is that you manipulate data in Lumira and want to expose that to others via Mobile BI (Explorer works very well with Mobile); You could also do this in Lumira Cloud

It used to be Explorer was the path to Mobile BI but that sort of changed when Lumira Cloud came out.

Ho Girish,

MRP group has higher priority than plant level settings. What is your specific requirement can you eleborate?

Userexit  M61X0001 can be used to run MRP based on MRP group.

Thanks & Regards,

Re: Quota generation based on years of service

Hi,

First you need to write your pcr to establish the service length, you need to query the it0041 subtype to do this. Within your schema, this rule will need to be processed each day OR as at the first of April each year.

Then you need to calculate the additional leave required and add it to the time type which is the base entitlement to your quota (t559L is the quota overview linking all of the t559 tables which your quota needs to refer to). Alternatively, you can update your quota with the additional leave using the update quota operation.

Are you ok with the theory and the broad overview or do you need to know how to query IT0041 in your pcr and how to update quota or add to base entitlement?

Let me know, I hope this helps.

Sorry for the confusion, but both tables use Input Controls and thus the data most likely will be filtered based on the users selections. The tables use different input controls and can't be combined for this particular report. That is why I specifically need each Tables calculated amount after Input Control selection and then add together to for a Grand Total.

I may be able to accomplish this by adding a separate query and have one table block for each query and utilize merged dimensions for the Grand Total but I would like to avoid this because of performance.

Sivagami, this is a mandatory field. The field name that needs to be added is Prod_md_system . This is the master data system where the articles come from. Here is an example from one of our Q systems, the field value is QS5CLNT446, where QS5 is the MD system and 446 is the client.

Advise to go/ no go with BI 4 SP6 upgrade to BI 4.1 SP3

If I am not wrong BI 4.1 SP3 will be released in March 2014.

Currently we are in BI 4 SP6/Patch 6 and upgrade from 3.1 to 4.0 is not complete because of some show stoppers from SAP.

Now SAP has released some patches to resolve our issues which also included in BI 4.1 SP3 or SP2+Patches.

If we apply any patch in BI 4 SP6 then we have to go with complete regression testing so instead of patching we are thinking of upgrading to BI 4.1.

Our Content - 90% webi , 10% crystal, Less than 1% dashboards. SAP BW/Oracle/SQL Server/DB2/Teradata reporting DBs. SAP BW is connected via BICS and traditional unv connectivity.

Please advise whether it is right time to upgrade to BI 4.1 or not?

If upgrade to 4.1 is recommended which SP/Patch are stable to trust?

Feel Free to provide your advises/recommendations with your experience with 4.1.

Appreciate your help.

Expensive brands in the automobile industry will always put an expensive hole in your pocket.

I have seen few of my friends who had Mercedes, BMW finding it difficult with the maintenance bills.

If you have money (basically if you are rich) then you can drive any car and pay the bills it brings along.

I am a Honda Civic owner and I find Honda cars more reliable (touch wood).

A friend of mine had an Opel Vectra and a Mercedes E class. I used to see him often driving to the garage than to work. He sold them and bought a Honda Civic Type R. So far the drive to the garage is not happening (for the past one year).

Z Database view is not showing all the entries?

$

Hello

Last year I have created a Z table, say, its name is Z_TABL_1, its working fine, say, there is around 1000 entries in PRD, well

Last week I have created another 2nd Z table, its name is Z_TABLE_2, now it has 50 entries in PRD

In both tables the key field os the same (VISITOR_NUMBER) and there is only one key field in both tables, its the same

When creating the 2nd table I forgot to specify the CHECK table relationship in 2nd table refering 1st table, I mean, dependent table is 2nd whereas reference is 1st table

Now, I created a database view, say, my_db_view on these 2 tables.

When I opened this my_db_view in SE16, I expected 1000 (this 1st table count) entries, but am seeing just 50 (the 2nd table has only 50 entries) entries!!

Pls. let me know how can I view all the 1000 entries in SE16 for my_db_view?

Thank you

You can get the frequency in ZYKL1 field of MMPT table. This value will be in seconds.

Get the UoM from ZEIEH field. Based on that, you can convert the seconds value into appropriate UoM value.

By the way, "running" the report in the fashion I outlined above did not open an instance of Crystal Reports, just the preview pane of Crystal Reports.  How then would anyone create/edit/view a token...unless they open Crystal Reports separately?  Or, how do you open Crystal Reports software from B1 except through the "Edit" button on Report and Layout Manager?

Get domain value range dynamically

$

Hi all,

I need to create a dynamic method that retrieves the value range (key-value) of a domain.

It is pretty simple to get fixed values using FM DD_DOMVALUES_GET, but how do I manage a value table?

For example:

  • Field XFELD has fixed values so use DD_DOMVALUES_GET

  • Fields BUKRS and SPRAS have value tables.

I can get the value table name using FM DDIF_FIELDINFO_GET and retrieve the data from that table. Unfortunately I can be sure to get the right key field, but I can't be sure to get the right value field, it depends on the value table definition.

BUKRS has T001 that stores the text in field BUTXT of the same instead SPRAS has T002 that stores the text in text table T002T in field SPTXT.

Is there any standard function module that does the trick?

In this threadGregor Wolf managed it manually using a case statement, but I would avoid it, too many case statements...

Thanks

Ivan

Hi Naveed/Rettna,

I am sorry that I was not able to help you but I am pleased that you were able to sort it out. Nice work!

I created SAP Note 1989139 to capture this information. Thank you for your contribution.

Not sure if this is supported out-of-the-box.

However, BODS supports SNMP (Simple Network Message Protocol), but not sure how exactly it can be used from Command Line prompt.

However, you could try to use it directly based on the 'Monitor' file that gets created in the directory

%LINK_DIR%/log/<Job Server Name>/<repository name>/.

Re: Question on cycle count

Only the fix indicator can prevent an existing CC indicator from replacement by a new MIBC run.

Once you have historic data for some materials and do a calculation for all materials, then all materials without history will become a D item.

There might be materials which are very important for your process, and need a high accuracy too. But MIBC would rank them low because they are just used with a very small quantity   compared to other materials, or minimal value despite of high quantity. Such materials will get a manually assigned CC indicator along with the fix indicator, so that the CC indicator cannot be overwritten by MIBC.

I explained the logic of MIBC a couple years ago: cycle counting - ABC analysis in MIBC

if you don't do anything yourself to distribute the counts, and assuming that A will be counted 12 times a year, B 6x, C 3x and D only 1x), then it is like this

January: only A items

February: only A items

March: A items + B items

April: only A items

..

June: A, B and C items

July: only A items

..

September: A, B and C items

...

December A, B, C and D items

But ideal you should have ABCD items in any inventory count throughout the year, so that you have to count almost anytime the same number of materials, otherwise you do not know how much you have to count, do not know how much people you need for the count.

I am not sure if you need such list from the business of if you are able to prepare it yourself.

I would just download the MB52 inventory report into Excel after a few days live with SAP.

Would define on which dates the counts shall be conducted in this year.

Assuming you want do 12 inventories, then I would just assign number 1 to the first material in MB52 report, number 2 to second..number 12 to the 12th and then start again with 1 to 13th position ...

All materials with a 1 will be counted in January, all with 2 in February.etc

This way you get an almost equal number of materials in each inventory.

you just take the material numbers from excel with copy and paste into the multiple selection of MI31 transaction.

In the second year you can then use MICN

Hello Rae. I have the *exact* same scenario. After using NSP for some months this started happening with me.

Did you manage to solve this issue?

Re: Tips and tricks about a new car

I have since the last round and also the previous one been looking into Audis. I had an Audi once before as well in the 90's, but discovered that they don't float very well.

They have great motors and very reliable though. However once you discover something with a bit more leg room (we are all relatively tall here in the Bussche team) you even prefer a VW Golf to any Audi. It is comparable to a Fiat 500 as far as leg space is concerned...

Not sure what Audi is up to there, but you can't sit comfortably in an Audi if you are taller than about 1m70 IMO.

One topic which has not changed at all in the past 4 years is the German Autobahns. Even the same construction sites are still there... Does anyone have reliable success with converting a KIA into a Lamborghini sort of thing so that the Germans (and the Swiss even more so) will not hog the left lane just to be stubborn.

Another tempting option is to only keep the old Landrover for garden work and local errands and do the "public transport thing" for a year or so. For currently planned holidays we only really need to get to the airport. Anyone "gone public" yet although you had gotten used to the convenience of having everything on-board and on-demand with a car? Could be adventurous. Also much more likely to meet girls that way than driving a Porsche! :-)

Oh... decisions... decisions... :-)

Cheers,

Julius
